Asia's Largest Pay-In Lounge Officially Opens At Hong Kong International Airport
|Plaza Premium Lounge (PPL) marked the official launch of its flagship facility at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) West Hall (near Gate 40) with a cocktail reception and opening ceremony. The celebration was attended by over 150 guests, airport officials, government representatives and business partners, including Mr Stanley Hui Hon-chung, Chief Executive Officer of Airport Authority Hong Kong and Mr Anthony Lau, Executive Director of Hong Kong Tourism Board.|
Mr Song Hoi-See, Founder & CEO of Plaza Premium Lounge Management Limited welcomed guests: "This airport lounge is one-of-a-kind, we are very proud to launch this new generation of our lounges in Hong Kong International Airport and we're grateful of the strong leadership and vision of Airport Authority. Together with our lounges in East Hall and Arrival Hall, I am confident that this new facility will serve to enhance the overall airport experience for all passengers travelling through the airport, and will become a must-visit destination when visiting Hong Kong. The lounge design concept hosts careful partitioning and design details create separate environments for work, relaxation, dining, or socialising. The new lounge is also designed to take full advantage of the breathtaking view of the airport tarmac.
In addition to a ribbon cutting, plaque unveiling and a toasting celebration, guests were also entertained with a lion dance. Throughout the event, guests also had a chance to sample the wide variety of food offerings available at The Market Place. Comprising a variety of stalls, the choice includes local delicacies, freshly-baked pastries, Hong Kong specialties and healthy dishes. To showcase its culinary diversity and expertise, for the opening event Plaza Premium Lounge created an exclusive one-day-only dish of Roasted Duck Rice in Fish Soup, this dish is derived and inspired by its popular signature Hong Kong-style Fish Ball Noodles Soup. To top it off, guests were also treated to a live demonstration of the creation of Hong Kong-style Milk Tea, made fresh upon order.
On the day, PPL also launched its first Wine Journey. As part of its interactive service, they have installed a wine machine that will introduce wines by grape varietals or by region to give guests a better understanding of the wine culture. At the opening celebration, guests were introduced to unique American Wines from New York by Uncorked Wines, this will be the first of many wine journeys taking place at the lounge.
