"Intemational travel heightens during the summertime," cornmented Elliot Friedman, Division Vice President, Travel Industry and Partnership Marketing for Hertz Rent A Car. "With this increase in travel and with travelers constantly seeking the best ways to stay in touch while abroad, we developed the cell phone promotion to highlight the added value of renting with Hertz and to reaffirm our commitment to our customers traveling internationally."

Customers interested in renting a cellular phone may do so by calling Hertz' International Reservations Desk toll-free at 1-800-654-3001 or through their travel agent, at ]east 24-hours prior to departure. Prior to receipt of the phone, customers are provided with a working phone number (UK based) that operates in all countries where service is provided. In addition, the delivered materials contain calling instructions for all countries.

Standard cellular phone rental rates are $7.95 per day or $49 per week. There is no daily minimum usage requirement, no activation fee and no value-added tax (VAT).

In addition to the phone rental rates, customers are responsible for any air time call charges that they incur, as well as a round-trip shipping charge of $25 per phone rental. Airtime costs vary by location and a full list of airtime costs is provided to the customer with the delivered materials.

IPR provides customers with Ericsson 600 Series GSM or Motorola Timeport Series GSM cellular handsets. The phones are operable in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and Asia and are configured, at no extra charge, with a voice mail option.
