Payless Car Rental Grows In The Middle East & The Mediterranean
|With Lebanon's opening in the near future, Payless Car Rental System, Inc. will have 22 locations serving customers in the Middle East and the Mediterranean. Other Payless locations include Cyprus (8), Egypt (3), Greece (4), Jordan (2) Oman (2), Qatar (1), and the U.A.E. (1).|
The region's growth has been rapid since the early 1990's. Professionals and laborers from around the world gravitated there as development boomed and the economy grew. Car rental business in particular has experienced high demand due to the needs of the workers and their families relocating here. The first Payless in this region opened at Muscat, Oman, in 1997, and is owned and operated by the Shanfari Trading and Contracting Company.
According to Payless Franchise Development Director, Kathleen Gassner, "People were pleasantly surprised by the charm and beauty of the area, and they enjoyed experiencing the culture." She attributes the growth in tourism at least in part to these reasons. "People came here initially to work. Now they come back on vacation."
In support of the company's goals for continued expansion in the Middle East and the Mediterranean, Payless is participating in the Arabian Travel Market being held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, May 1 - 4. Joseph McNabb, Director of Airport Affairs and Programs, will represent the corporate office at the event. Three franchise owners will also be there to promote their individual locations: Ala'a Haddad from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Kosti (Gus) Ziadeh from The Sultanate of Oman, The United Arab Emirates and Qatar, and Ghazi Hamadeh from the Republic of Lebanon.
Payless Car Rental is strategically positioned for rapid growth with a recognizable brand name and 21st century technology provided by its sister company, REZlink International.
