Sri Lanka Promotes MICE Tourism
|Sri Lanka Convention Bureau and SriLankan Airlines conducted yet another MICE Tourism promotion at Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on the 7th August 2014 where there were buyer seller meetings followed by presenting of Sri Lanka as the latest sought after venue for Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conferences and Exhibitions.|
The promotion was attended by a large number of potential MICE buyers from Kuala Lumpur. The Sri Lankan MICE industry participants had the opportunity to establish contacts with their counterparts during the buyer- seller meeting.
The audience was addressed by the Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Kuala Lumpur HE Ibrahim Sahib Ansar, where he educated the audience on the massive infrastructure development drive across all economic sectors including tourism. The tourism and MICE tourism industries have shown an unprecedented progress, especially in the last 03 years in Sri Lanka.
SLCB was represented by Kumudu Henendige, Manager Marketing who presented the MICE tourism developments in the country while Chinthaka Weerasinghe, Country Manager - Malaysia briefed the audience on SriLankan Airlines plans for the far-east market.
Former Chairman of Malaysia Tourism Dr. Victor Wee also addressed the gathering with his experiences of travelling in Sri Lanka.
This promotion by Sri Lanka Convention Bureau and SriLankan Airlines in Malaysia will boost the MICE arrivals in the years from the far east and the main objective of the promotion was to enlighten the Malaysian counterparts of the benefits that Sari Lanka offers for MICE visitors.
