Adelaide Convention Centre Expands Business Development Team

 The Adelaide Convention Centre has strengthened the team that will attract business up to and beyond the completion of its $350 million expansion.

New business development managers Wade Galea and Erryn Dryga, both from South Australia, have been appointed following a national search.

Mr Galea recently returned to Adelaide after five years as operations manager and special events account manager of the Dubai World Trade Centre. Before that he held management roles at the 2007 Australian Grand Prix and the 2006 Dohar Asian Games.

Ms Dryga was a business development executive with the SeaLink Group, where she was responsible for Australian and New Zealand accounts. She has significant experience in both wholesale and retail tourism as well as in the meetings and incentives sector.

Adelaide Convention Centre Chief Executive, Alec Gilbert, said the pair would work with the existing team to secure events for the two buildings being created in the staged redevelopment. Stage One is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2014, and Stage Two will open in 2017.

"We are delighted to welcome both Wade and Erryn who are not only passionate South Australians, but very switched on and success-driven business development managers,'' Mr Gilbert said.
