Business Events Sydney Welcomes Scott Boyes To Board of Directors
|Scott Boyes, Regional General Manager of Accor NSW and ACT, has been elected to the Business Events Sydney's (BESydney) Board of Directors following its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday.|
Complementing the impressive breadth of expertise of the existing Directors, Mr Boyes is an experienced hotelier, having worked with Accor Asia-Pacific since 1994.
Mr Boyes joins the Board of Directors as a Members Director, having received the most votes from BESydney's Strategic Partner and Members.

Scott is a well-respected member of the industry, who will bring unique insights and a strong state-wide vision to the board. Scott Boyes joins Gary Daly (General Manager Sales, Luna Park) and Kate Smith (Managing Director, WaldronSmith) as Members Directors. The BESydney Board comprises two Directors nominated by the NSW Government via Destination NSW, three Member Directors and four Independent Directors appointed by the Board.

Scott Boyes is Regional General Manager of Accor in NSW and ACT. He relocated from his role in Victoria in July 2012 where he was the Regional General Manager for Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia -- a position he held from 2008. An experienced hotelier, Scott has been working in the hospitality industry since 1992 and commenced his career with Accor Asia Pacific in 1994 upon graduation from the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School.
In 1996, Scott was one of four people selected for Accor's National Management Traineeship. This program is designed to fast track individuals to the level of General Manager within the company. Since then, Scott has held various Rooms Division positions including the role of Hotel Manager -- Mercure Parramatta and Executive Assistant Manager at the Novotel and Hotel Ibis Sydney Olympic Park.
In 2005, he was one of three people from Australia and New Zealand to be awarded the prestigious Accor Bernache Award for his financial performance achievements. The Bernache Award is the highest individual award within Accor globally, recognising individual performance throughout the group that employs over 140,000 people worldwide.
In April 2007, Scott was promoted to the position of Regional General Manager Northern Territory/South Australia. This was followed by a further promotion in June 2008 into his previous role as Regional General Manager for Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.
Over the past five years, Scott has delivered above-market performance as Regional General Manager which has led to his continued career progression and success within the Accor Group.
