Kyoto Convention Bureau Appoints James Widgren As International Marketing Manager
|James' role with focus on the growth of incoming, international MICE business from key regions around the world including Europe, North America and Australasia. Kyoto Convention Bureau has once again taken the unusual approach of employing a foreign national in the post, ensuring there are no language barriers and seamless communication with potential clients.|
James Widgren will be attending a variety of international events, including IMEX America over the coming months to introduce both himself and the latest Kyoto has to offer the international MICE market.
Commenting on his appointment James said: "Kyoto is an incredible city, with so much to offer the global incentives, meetings and events industry. Over the course of the last few years this ancient capital of Japan has firmly placed itself on the MICE industry map of must visit places. Kyoto has become a favourite with high end incentive groups -- a trend we expect to continue with the opening of the Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton, whilst also successfully bidding for a range of substantial Association events.
Takashi Kunieda from the Kyoto Convention Bureau comments: "To effectively sell and grow in this sector we firmly believe in the need for not just English speaking employees, but those who have a true understanding and recognition of the cultural differences between Japan and our target markets. James is extensively travelled and we look forward to the impact he will have on our international sales.
