Bjoern Spreitzer Joins Tourism New Zealand As General Manager Americas and Europe
|Tourism New Zealand has announced the appointment of Bjoern Spreitzer to the key role of General Manager Americas and Europe based in Los Angeles.|
Spreitzer, who joins the Los Angeles office this week, previously held the role of International Business Events Manager with Tourism New Zealand in Auckland. In the role he developed the organization's International Business Events strategy, built an entirely new, high-performing team and re-established the organization's relationships with this important industry. He is thrilled to be taking on the new role in Los Angeles.
"It's an exciting time to be joining the Western Markets team, with visitor vacation numbers out of North America currently enjoying significant growth," says Spreitzer.
"The market here is thriving and with the announcement of Air New Zealand's fifth non-stop gateway from North America -- out of Houston -- in December, we look forward to more opportunities to market New Zealand as the ideal vacation destination to North Americans."
Chief Executive Kevin Bowler says Spreitzer's background in trade, diverse skills and achievements mean he is perfectly positioned to continue building our success in the critical Western hemisphere markets.
Spreitzer has been with Tourism New Zealand since 2006 having started with the organization as Manager, Germany.
Gregg Anderson, the current General Manager Americas and Europe, will be taking a sabbatical from the organization at the end of this month before returning to New Zealand.
