Palm Launches in India; Increases Global Presence
|Palm, Inc. has announced the launch of Palm handheld computers in India. The Palm m100, m105, color IIIc and popular Vx handhelds will be available throughout the subcontinent at the end of May.|
"Palm already distributes its handheld computers to nine countries throughout the Asia Pacific region. As early adopters to technology, India should prove to be an exciting new market for Palm," said Daren Ng, Palm's sales director for South Asia, Australia and New Zealand. "Palm's entry into India strengthens our distribution strategy for worldwide availability. It is a great opportunity for us to maximize our distribution networks and make our highquality handheld solutions accessible to people everywhere. India is definitely a highgrowthpotential area in the handheld category."
Palm has appointed two local distributors to assist with the launch, Ingram Micro India Limited and Tech Pacific Technology (India) Limited, both of which will play a major role in the distribution of Palm products and information in the region.
"Ingram Micro and Tech Pacific were a natural choice. Given their expertise in IT distribution, proven credentials, and vendor lists that include some of the world's leading manufacturers of computer hardware and software, we are extremely confident of reaching our customers across the key metros in India," said Ng.
