Web2Mobile Forms Strategic Marketing Partnership With OAG
|Web2Mobile and OAG have concluded a strategic marketing agreement that will enable users of both Web2Mobile and OAG to access up-to-date flight and travel information as well as other Web2Mobile services.|
OAG provides access to the most comprehensive and independent flight schedule information available - including millions of direct and connecting flights from over 800 airlines. Used by frequent business travelers, airlines and corporations around the world, OAG travel information is considered by many to be an indispensable resource to efficiently coordinate travel arrangements.
The partnership is integral to both Web2Mobile and OAG - empowering the frequent traveler to fully manage travel while out of the office via the wireless device of his or her choice. With OAG, people on the go will be able to take advantage of the OAG E-Notification service, which provides up-to-date information on the status of a booked flight.
With the OAG E-Notification service, users can request a flight update that is automatically sent to them, regardless of the service used to book the flight.
The OAG E-Notification service is very flexible. It allows users to direct updates to their mobile phone or pager, as well as to their e-mail address, and to change specifications on when and how they receive status information on a flight by flight basis. OAG also offers the ability to check for seat availability on any desired flight.
"OAG content is incredibly comprehensive and provides Web2Mobile users with a timesaving resource," stated Arinder Mahal, vice-president of Web2Mobile. "Partnering with a company of this caliber provides Web2Mobile subscribers with information that is far and away the best in the industry."
Using its advanced application development technology, Web2Mobile will work closely with OAG to create a wireless site with the most up-to-date travel and flight information available to wireless users. Under this partnership, OAG customers will have access to different services that Web2Mobile provides to its subscribers, such as My Web2Mobile. The OAG wireless site will be made available to anyone, free of charge, who registers at the Web2Mobile.com web site.
"Web2Mobile has shown that they can deliver a powerful wireless solution," said Max Lane, Publishing General Manager at OAG. "Web2Mobile's technological expertise, coupled with our comprehensive, independent and accurate travel information, will be one of the most valuable applications on the mobile Internet."
The partnership with OAG complements a very strong wireless content line-up already offered by Web2Mobile. The company recently announced agreements with the Associated Press, Thomson Financial and The Sporting News, and has promised further additions to this roster over the coming months.
