New Internet, Hotel, And Rail Options Highlight Enhancements In TRXSM Online Booking Tool
|Today TRX, Inc. launched its latest version of ResAssist, the innovative online booking solution used by corporations and agencies worldwide. The ResAssist 6.0 release introduces more than 30 new features, including Internet fares, and hotel and rail access. TRX will be providing demonstrations showcasing new ResAssist functionality at the National Business Travel Association's annual Conference & Exposition, beginning today in Los Angeles. |
Highlighting this latest release is the ability of ResAssist users to view Internet-only fares available on airline web sites. When a carrier has an Internet fare that matches the desired city pair, the user has the option of clicking on the link to that specific site to book the trip. Internet fares are presented along with the Global Distribution System (GDS) fare options.
Rail options are another new feature of the ResAssist online booking tool. Once the traveler makes a request, the application simultaneously seeks air and rail availability, presenting Amtrak schedules for U.S. segments, and Via Rail schedules for Canadian segments. This feature adds yet another cost-saving opportunity to organizations using the application, especially those on the East Coast with its multiple rail hubs.
With literally thousands of hotels available through the GDS, corporations are constantly striving to direct travelers to preferred properties. The ResAssist application now allows travel managers to manage this significant travel expense more efficiently. Travel managers can easily program the ResAssist application to display only preferred properties to travelers as they seek hotel options in destination cities. By preventing travelers from even viewing hotel options that are not compliant with corporate travel policy, this feature maximizes usage of preferred properties ñ improving a corporationís bargaining power with suppliers.
The ResAssist online booking tool also offers a unique feature that allows travel managers to automatically track and identify the number of corporate executives on a specific flight. An industry first, this feature allows travel managers to establish a threshold, based on corporate policy, for the number of key executives allowed on each flight.
"ResAssist Version 6.0 is a landmark achievement for both TRX programmers and our clients," said Steve Reynolds, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of TRX. "We are optimistic that these new features, enhanced by the speed and efficiencies already built into the application, will lead to even more corporations and travel agencies adopting this industry-leading online booking tool."
