Soaring Expat Travel Demand Spurs Flight Centre Expansion In Hong Kong
|GLOBAL leisure travel specialist Flight Centre is set to open its second Hong Kong store, following strong demand for expatriate travel services at its flagship Central store.|
Flight Centre has been in Hong Kong since 2009, with leisure travel consultants operating from a dedicated call centre.
Since opening the first bricks and mortar store on Caine Road, Central in March this year, sales have exceeded expectations with a high volume of expatriate travel bookings. This has prompted the company to boost its presence, with a second store in Happy Valley set to open on May 28.
"Both shops are destined for long-term success because they are the first in Hong Kong to fill an untapped niche of expatriate leisure travel," said Flight Centre China General Manager, David Fraser.
"Our client base is 70 per cent expatriates and 30 per cent local travellers, which shows how important it is to have a travel service specifically geared to the expat market."
"These clients are drawn to Flight Centre because we have travel consultants who are also expatriates and fully understand their travel needs. Our consultants are very knowledgeable and passionate about travelling and provide a complete service."
"Whether customers want to book airfares, tours and packages, complex itineraries, cruises or any other type of travel, our team can handle it all for them. We aim to take the chore out of travelling and provide a completely tailored product for busy expats."
"Our expert consultants can provide personal recommendations and trusted travelling tips featuring must-try restaurants, must-do activities and warnings on what to skip, so you can maximise your travel time doing what you love best."
Mr. Fraser said the Central store's strong early performance indicated travel activity was in good shape.
He said travelers were taking off to South-east Asia, London, Canada and Australia, as well as regional and overseas beach holidays.
"Flight Centre is geared for rapid expansion. Our plan is to open two to three more retail stores in Hong Kong this year and to increase our sales force from 20 to 50 people in 2013."
The new Flight Centre store will offer an experienced team of native English and multi-lingual international travel consultants.
Flight Centre's guarantee of "unbeatable" rates and fares, negotiated with a vast range of airlines, hotels and car hire companies worldwide, applies to all bookings.
Located at 8 Sing Woo Road in Happy Valley, the new store will operate 11.00am to 7.00pm seven days a week, including most public holidays.
To celebrate the opening, Flight Centre will launch a month-long competition to win an all-inclusive four-night trip to Phuket for two people.
Winners will stay at the Centara Grand West Sands Resort and Villas with return economy flights. To enter, visit the Happy Valley store to submit your entry between May 28 and June 30 2012.
In addition, there will be big discounts on flights and holidays booked between May 28 and June 3.
