Voyager Travel Joins ATPI Group
|In a deal completed earlier this week Voyager Travel has been sold to the international travel management group ATPI with local management retaining a shareholding in its combined group.|
Voyager Travel has offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth and has been providing travel services to Australian companies for 40 years.
The acquisition of this long established company with a unique reputation for excellence in the Australian market further strengthens the ATPI Group's footprint in Australia and complements its already strong position in the Asia Pacific region. It will also provide great opportunities for Voyager's clients and staff.
Outgoing Chairman of Voyager, Mr Lionel Krongold said: "The approach to us from ATPI came out of the blue in the year that we celebrated 40 years in the corporate travel industry. After an extensive search, ATPI identified Voyager as the travel business in Australia that would best complement its strategy to grow its operations in the Asia/Pacific region".
Graham Ramsey Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the ATPI Group said: "I am delighted to have completed the acquisition of this prestigious Australian company. It is another important milestone in achieving our international expansion strategy. I am also extremely pleased that Richard Savva the Managing Director of Voyager Travel will remain in his role and as a shareholder of ATPI."
Voyager Travel will complement the ATPI Group with its reputation for providing clients with high levels of service and savings. The clients of Voyager will benefit from the ATPI Group's extensive international presence and their unique technical and reporting capabilities. The shared philosophies of the two companies are aligned and have differentiated them from their competition and will do so in the future.
The Krongold group will retain the Voyager travel technology business.
