Bora Bora, Tahiti Named A Top Island In The World By TripAdvisor Travelers
|The island of Bora Bora, one of the 118 islands and atolls that make up the Islands of Tahiti, was recognized as the number three island in the world in the "Top 10 Islands in the World" 2014 TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice awards.|
The Travelers' Choice "Top 10 Islands in the World" awards honor top travel spots worldwide based on millions of valuable reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travelers. Award winners were determined based on the popularity of islands, taking into account travelers' favorite and most highly rated places.
"Based on insights from millions of travelers from around the world, the TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice awards help identify the most highly rated and loved holiday spots," said Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor. "From the world famous to the hidden gems, these impressive travel destinations offer something unique for every traveler type to help them plan their next perfect trip. This is a great honor for the local tourism industry."
TripAdvisor experts note, "Turquoise lagoons, soft white sands, and deep tangerine sunsets set the scene for romance on the island so nice they named it twice. Mingle with tropical fish as you flutter around Coral Gardens or Tupitipiti Point, or relax in a self-driving tour as you take in beautiful views of the once-volcanic Mount Otemanu. At the Lagoonarium you can watch shark feedings and swim with turtles. Cap it all off with a succulent meal at one of the island's fine French restaurants, then sip a tropical cocktail under the stars."
