National Car Rental And Alamo Rent A Car Open In Bulgaria
|National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car are expanding their presence in Eastern Europe with the opening of Bulgaria. The opening will support the huge growth in travel to the region driven in part by the launch of no-frills flights, following several Eastern European countries joining the EU in May 2004. |
National and Alamo are working with Mirkat Ltd, a branch of the Sfakianakis Group, one of the leading companies in the Bulgarian motor vehicle market. Travellers will benefit from a location in downtown Sofia, servicing Sofia airport. Additionally a location is scheduled to open on the Black Sea in Spring 2006. The fleet comprises Suzuki vehicles in the main, ranging from small compacts to larger saloons to cater for both the business and leisure market.
Nikolaos Sfakianakis, founder of the Sfakianakis Group, comments, "National and Alamo were the natural choice for this partnership due to the reputation both companies have for outstanding customer service and their global reach. The current demand for car hire is unprecedented as more tourists and business travellers visit the country. It is therefore a great time for us to launch National and Alamo in Bulgaria, bringing travellers a superior rental experience".
Neil Summerville, Vice President of Franchising adds, "Bulgaria offers us a great opportunity for further European expansion. Mirkat's experience and expertise will be invaluable in helping us develop a market leading service on a local basis. We look forward to working closely with Mirkat to establish the highest standards of customer care and quality of fleet in the market."
