National Car Rental & Alamo Rent A Car Expand German Presence
|The National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands are set to continue their major growth plans in Germany with the appointment of a new licensee, Robert Straub GmbH. Already one of the leading vehicle rental providers in the south of the country, Robert Straub GmbH will give the National and Alamo brands significant advantage, including an immediate increase in locations, airport and downtown, and a larger and more comprehensive fleet. This supports the brands' expansion plans, which have already seen a doubling of presence and sales in Germany in the last 18 months. |
"We are extremely excited by the signing of Robert Straub GmbH", confirmed Ian Wardle, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Vanguard Rental EMEA, the parent company for the National and Alamo brands in Germany. "Straub is one of Germany's biggest vehicle rental licensees, with ambitious growth plans of their own. This makes them a very strong partner for us, to challenge the market leaders in the German vehicle rental sector. In the last 18 months we have grown the National and Alamo business by more than 100% and this new agreement means we will further grow our business instantly, both in terms of locations and vehicles."
Established in 1954, Robert Straub GmbH has more than 40 locations in the south of the country and over 3,000 vehicles, encompassing a wide range of cars and light commercial vehicles and a specialist vehicle service. The company is, therefore, in a very strong position to complement the sales development plans for the National and Alamo brands, both domestically in the corporate and leisure sectors, and from inbound international markets, serving business and leisure travellers.
"The international strength of the National and Alamo brands was a crucial factor in us taking up this new licensee appointment", confirmed Robert Straub, CEO of Robert Straub GmbH. "The company's vision to significantly grow its presence in Germany was also key, giving us the confidence that we can work with a partner who has the same attitude to business development.
"Both companies share the objective to be able to provide a high quality and competitively priced service for customers, corporate and leisure, whenever and wherever they need a vehicle. We are already in a very strong position to deliver on this promise, with plenty of scope to develop even further as part of this new partnership."
Vanguard, through the National and Alamo brands, delivers a market leading service throughout EMEA, with more than 1000 locations in over 50 countries and in 83 countries and over 3,000 locations globally. This ensures that the car rental experience for business and leisure travellers is swift and hassle-free. The high quality of the service is well illustrated by numerous Awards won by the brands including European Car Rental Company 2005 for the National brand, awarded by the European Institute of Transport Management* and Best Daily Rental Company in the prestigious Daily Telegraph Travel Awards 2004 for the Alamo brand.
"This partnership places Germany at the heart of the National and Alamo European network, securing our position as a leading provider of quality rental solutions for corporate and leisure travellers throughout the Continent, both at airports and downtown", concluded Ian Wardle. "Germany forms a key part of our EMEA strategy and Robert Straub GmbH shares our focus on customer care and the development of long-term partnerships with corporate customers. We will be concentrating on identifying new opportunities, as well as nurturing and developing existing business relationships."
