National Car Rental Enters Lithuania; Continues European Expansion
|National Car Rental is continuing to expand its European network with the launch of its services in Lithuania , one of the 10 countries to enter the European Union in May 2004 and the final country for National, who is now represented in all 10 markets. National is working with Siglita, a growing car rental company in Lithuania, to ensure business and leisure travellers enjoy a consistently high level of service throughout the Baltic states . |
National has locations at Vilnius airport and downtown Kaunas, Lithuania's second largest city, with a fleet of luxury and middle range cars and mini vans for short and long term rental. Following its entry into the EU, Lithuania is experiencing significant business growth and National anticipates increasing its fleet to match business demand in the near future.
Lithuania was the first Soviet republic to declare independence and the country has restructured its economy to integrate itself into Europe and the international marketplace. Its rate of economic growth is among the highest in Europe and industry and commerce is continuing to grow, providing strong corporate travel opportunities for National's new operation. With borders on Poland, Latvia and Russia, Lithuania's tourist market is also seeing significant growth, again providing a wealth of opportunity for National.
Jevgenijus Kulesas Head of Rent A Car for Siglita says, "We are delighted to be working with National, an international brand that shares our strong commitment to delivering a quality service to our customers. As we are relatively new to the rental market, we will benefit from the wealth of experience National has across Europe and worldwide. Through this partnership we will be able to develop and expand our company, maximising new business opportunities as more and more travellers come to
Lithuania from across Europe."
Neil Summerville, Vice President of Franchising for National adds, "Lithuania is a great opportunity for National to continue its expansion across Europe. This is a key location for us, offering National customers a gateway from Western Europe into the Baltic States. Now business and leisure travellers will be able to travel in comfort in all countries throughout Europe, confident that they will receive the consistently high level of service they have come to expect from National."
