Hilton & Seven Other Leading Hotel Companies Join Andbook Online

Andbook Online, the joint Internet venture between Accor, Le Méridien and Hilton International, has announced major partnership agreements with Hilton Hotels Corporation and seven of the world's leading hotel groups. All new partner and founder hotels will be given equal prominence on their hotel-booking site andbook.com.

The new partners include Hilton Hotels Corporation and their portfolio of US brands, as well as Conrad Hotels, global companies Kempinski Hotels and Resorts, Millennium Copthorne, SRS-World Hotels and Italy's Jolly Hotels, Germany's Maritim Hotels, UK's Moat House Hotels, and Shangri - La Hotels & Resorts in Asia, as well as Hilton International's Scandic Hotels.

The agreements add preferred partner status to a further 2,800 properties, bringing the andbook.com preferred hotel portfolio to a total of 5,500 hotels and 856,000 rooms. This reinforces the company's position as one of the world's leading on-line hotel reservations sites, which provides access to over 55,000 properties throughout the world. The enhanced information on the new partners will be made available on the site over the coming weeks.

Michael Madison, andbook.com's CEO, commented on the announcement: "The agreement with Hilton Hotels Corporation and these seven other leading hotel companies will provide our client base of business travellers with direct access to increased functionality and enhanced information. Our success to date in securing partnerships with many of the world's major hotel companies illustrates both the increasing demand from this sector for an all-encompassing site, as well as our partners' desire to take control of their own room stock. andbook.com addresses both these requirements."

Serge Ragozin, Accor's Executive Senior Vice President Global Services, commented: "The addition of new hotel partners to andbook.com is a timely sign that segment-specific distribution is a required ingredient in the marketplace. andbook.com addresses the corporate and SME sectors of our distribution strategy by providing a specific, multilingual approach to these audiences at a reduced distribution cost."

Mike Jones, Vice President Distribution Hilton International, said: " We are pleased that our Alliance Partner Hilton Hotels Corporation is joining our on-line initiative in order to increase its international distribution to a key target audience."

Hilton Hotels Corporation is recognized internationally as a pre-eminent hospitality company owning, managing and franchising hotels with several of the world's most recognized brand names, including Hilton, Hampton Inn, Doubletree, Embassy Suites Hotels, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Conrad International and Red Lion Hotels and Inns.
