Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) Wins Two Major Event Industry Awards
|Multi award winning venue, the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC), has added to its already impressive list of awards as it picked up two more trophies at the prestigious Event Awards in London this week (Wednesday).|
The ceremony, held at London's Eventim Apollo in front of an audience of over 700 leading figures from the UK event industry, saw the SECC walk away with the awards for Event Space of the Year and Venue Team of the Year, the second year running it has triumphed in this category.
Commenting on the wins, Kathleen Warden, Director of Conference Sales at the SECC said: "This was a great night for the SECC and for Glasgow, and is testament to the dedication, commitment and passion of the entire team across the campus. These awards demonstrate that the SECC is providing a world class team and a world class venue for diverse and demanding events.
The awards also follow on from one of the most successful years in SECC's history, where it was the venue for a number of major events including the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the MTV Europe Awards, and over 50 conferences.
The SECC is situated in the heart of Glasgow, Scotland's cultural and commercial capital and is one of the UK's largest integrated venues, purpose-built to provide exhibition, conference and event space. Capable of delivering events from two to well over 10,000 delegates, the SECC has space with flexibility; from the iconic Clyde Auditorium to the Loch Suite of meeting rooms, all joined to 22,355m2 of exhibition space.
