Emerald Waterways 2017 River Cruises at 2016 Prices - Plus Discount

Emerald Waterways, winner of Cruise Critics 2015 Editor's Pick for "Best River Line for Value," is now accepting bookings for their 2017 river cruise season. Travelers will save with an early booking offer - book any 2017 sailing before April 30 and pay 2016 fares, and enjoy additional savings of $250 per person on 7-10 night sailings and $500 per person on longer trips. Sailings are still available on some 2016 itineraries as well and they also come with big savings: guests booking a Panorama Balcony, Grand Balcony & Owner's One-Bedroom Suites on any 2016 sailing between March and August will get free airfare to Europe from select cities.

The 2017 river cruising season brings exciting additions for Emerald Waterways: two new ships -- The Emerald Liberté in France and the Emerald Radiance in Portugal -- and new itineraries on Portugal's Douro and France's Rhône and Saône Rivers. Guests on the eight-day Secrets of the Douro sailing will enjoy stops in both Portugal and Spain. Highlights include the Roman ruins in Lamego; Portuguese cooking and cocktail demonstrations; pre-historic carvings showcased in Coa Valley Museum; and dinner at a traditional local wine estate. A day trip to Spain's Roman city of Salamanca offers a feel for life in medieval times.

The eight-day Sensations of Southern France voyage travels from Lyon to Arles along the picturesque Rhône and Saône Rivers, passing through Chalon-Sur-Saône, Tournon and Avignon. Guests will visit several of the quaint country villages that are synonymous with this region and be introduced to its rich history with tours of the area's castles, palaces and ruins. The region's wine and culinary offerings are highlighted through tastings of the region's wines, cheeses and olives on-board and ashore.

The new Star Ships will bring Emerald's total fleet to seven and will be smaller versions of the original design in order to best take advantage of the rivers' structures. The Emerald Liberté will carry 138 guests in 70 suites and staterooms, while the Emerald Radiance will sail with 112 guests in 56 suites and staterooms, both with a 3-to-1 guest-crew ratio. A new category of stateroom will appear on the Radiance with 330 sq. feet of living space and all the amenities that you would find in the Grand Balcony Suites. The Emerald Liberté ship will have the Emerald signature onboard heated swimming pool with a retractable glass roof, which transforms into a cinema in the evening while the Emerald Radiance will feature an outdoor lounging pool on the sun deck.

Launched in 2014, Emerald Waterways caters to the four-star-plus market by using five-star ships and service and a near all-inclusive pricing plan. The cruise fare includes all transfers to and from the ship; all onboard (and some on-shore) meals; unlimited tea and coffee; wine, beer and soft drinks with lunch and dinner; bottled water in the cabins replenished daily; continental breakfast, pre-dinner canapés and after-dinner sweet treats served in the top suites; complimentary WiFi onboard the ship, a shore excursion daily; and more -- as well as all gratuities on and off the ship.

As part of the Scenic Group, Emerald Waterways is backed by the award-winning expertise of the world's leading luxury river cruise operator.
