Free Luxury Trip To Korea Contest Launches New KNTO Website

 According to Mr. Jo Young Kim, Director for Canada of the Korea National Tourism Organization (KNTO), KNTO is establishing its major English-language tourism website www.tour2korea.com. A promotion will be held until mid-November to celebrate the September 27, 2001 launch. Three draws will be held to award a variety of prizes including the grand prizes; one of three luxury trips to Korea.

The new website offers in-depth information on Korea including weather, exchange rates, transportation, accommodations and reservations service, news and a photo gallery. Extensive sections on sightseeing, food & shopping, festivals and culture in addition to many links, such as the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan site, are also featured.

Mr. Kim said, "as of the end of August, Canadian visitors to Korea recorded a 5.2% increase over the same period last year while American visitors decreased 0.9%." While Japanese and Chinese-speaking tourists make up the bulk of holidaymakers, most English speaking visitors travel to Korea for business purposes. Yet, English is rapidly becoming the global language and it is the primary language of choice on the Internet. Due to the importance of the English speaking market, KNTO has reserved the grand opening of the www.tour2korea.com website and promotion for this market.
