Mission Bay Conference Center At UCSF Receives IACC Certification
|Mission Bay Conference Center at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), an ARAMARK Harrison Lodging managed facility, recently received its International Association of Conference Centers (IACC) certification, establishing it as one of the highest-quality venues available to meeting professionals, based on 30 criteria that IACC requires for its conference center members. |
The world-class meeting and training venue, open for business since Nov, 1, 2005, is hosting a Showcase Event on Monday, May 15, 2006, at its1675 Owens Street, San Francisco, Calif. location. The invitation-only event begins at 4 p.m. and ends at 7 p.m. and will include individual tours for meeting planners and dignitaries of the newly constructed conference center.
The Spanish Harlem-themed event will also include entertainment provided by a Spanish acoustic guitar player, flamenco dancers, and highlights from the center's award-winning executive chef, Audrey McRae. Guests will be dining on feature cuisine including Spanish, Cuban and South American flavors such as tapas, tortilla corn cups, ceviche, pulled pork empanada, and tamales. White and red sangria and mohitos will also be served.
"This spectacular new center located on UCSF's teaching and research campus offers exceptional conference space with advanced technology and a professional team dedicated to providing the best service available," said Bruce Gorton, general manager at Mission Bay Conference Center.
The center, designed by Ricardo and Victor Legorreta, award-winning Mexican architects, includes a landmark tower, 80-foot atrium and a Stephen Balkenhol sculpture. The center features12,500 square feet of space for day meetings, teleconferencing capabilities, wireless Internet access and a full range of culinary services. The center also includes 10 conference rooms, a business center, concierge services and a full-service restaurant on property.

Located only 12 miles from the San Francisco International Airport, the center is conveniently located to Berkeley, Oakland and the entire Bay Area Peninsula.
