Newly Renovated Anaheim Convention Center Arena Rededicated
|The Anaheim Convention Center Arena was rededicated last month during a private ceremony as the Anaheim Convention Center celebrated its 40th anniversary and unveiled its own history walk. The arena rededication comes after recent renovations and aesthetic improvements were made to the 40 year-old arena to reflect the theme and décor of the adjacent Convention Center.|
Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle, Council Members and Convention Center notables were present at the ceremony to honor the rich history and exciting future of Anaheim's Convention Center.
"We are embarking on a new adventure as we are constantly updating the Anaheim Convention Center to meet the needs of our visitors," said Greg Smith, Anaheim's Executive Director of Convention, Sports and Entertainment. "We have taken this historical jewel, polished it and are ready to once again showcase it as part of the treasured Anaheim Resort. We look forward to the future, as it continues to shine."
Famous icons from Elvis Presley to Barry Manilow have graced the stage of the Anaheim Convention Center's Arena. It is home to the NBA Development League Anaheim Arsenal and the annual NCAA Big West Basketball Tournament.
The Convention Center first opened its doors to the public in 1967. Today, the Convention Center has undergone five renovations and is the largest on the West Coast with more than 1.6 million square feet of convention space.
With more than one million delegates attending conferences, meetings and conventions in 2006, and spending a record-breaking $891 million, the Anaheim Convention Center continues to be a premier destination for tradeshows, meetings and events.
