New Conference Space Available In Seward, Alaska
|The Seward Windsong Lodge opened a new conference room this summer to meet the growing demand for larger group facilities in Seward. The River Room is the final phase of a three-phase expansion schedule that began in 2007.|
Earlier phases of the lodge expansion added 72 deluxe guest rooms, for a total of 180, and increased restaurant seating to prepare the property for larger groups and events. The 1,200-square-foot River Room features large windows, wooden beams and a rustic style that complements the lodge's secluded temperate rain forest setting. Completed in June, it accommodates 80 seated guests, increasing the property's capacity for groups significantly. The Glacier Room, an 1,800-square-foot meeting space, accommodates 100 guests; the outdoor pavilion seats 40.
The lodge is located in the Resurrection River Valley, just outside the coastal community of Seward and 126 miles south of Anchorage and the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.
"Our meeting space has gorgeous views of the spruce forest or mountains and the Resurrection River, so even when guests are in a meeting, they can enjoy their surroundings and be inspired by them," said Nick Hammond, general manager of the lodge.
The hotel has wireless Internet throughout the property and audio-visual equipment is available in meeting rooms. The on-site restaurant, Resurrection Roadhouse, provides full catering services for conferences, weddings and special events.
Located 10 minutes from downtown Seward, the lodge is easily accessible by car, daily coach service and the Alaska Railroad. The lodge operates a local courtesy shuttle that connects guests from the rail depot, small boat harbor and local attractions, such as the Alaska SeaLife Center. It also offers convenient access to nearby activities --- sea kayaking, glacier hiking, day cruises of Kenai Fjords National Park and more --- all of which can be arranged for groups or individuals.
Seward Windsong Lodge is owned by CIRI Alaska Tourism Corporation (CATC), a subsidiary of CIRI, an Alaska Native corporation. A certified Minority Business Enterprise, CIRI Alaska Tourism Corporation owns and operates Kenai Fjords Tours, Seward Windsong Lodge, Prince William Sound Glacier Cruises, Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge and Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge.
