Pheasant Run Resort & Spa Expands Extensive Theatre Renovations

Pheasant Run Resort & Spa, one of the Midwest's largest resort and conference centers, has announced an expansion to its theatre renovation plans, beginning in early August 2002. The additional enhancements, including stadium seating, new sound and lighting systems, and interior and exterior redesigns, are in response to the demands of Pheasant Run Resort & Spa guests. After announcing the theatre renovation in March 2002, Pheasant Run Resort & Spa has expanded its renovation plans to include a variety of projects that will provide theatre guests with an enhanced entertainment experience. These additional renovations include: installing stadium seating to provide increased seating capacity and improved sightlines for all audience members; adding of state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems; constructing a passenger elevator for guests; remodeling the four Presidents' Rooms, which combine to make the President's Ballroom, a 3,200-square-foot facility; redecorating the theatre lobby; and enhancing the exterior to add signage. The expansion will begin after the close of the theatre's current production of Broadway's "Chicago" and is expected to be completed by spring of 2003.

"Pheasant Run Resort & Spa is dedicated to fulfilling the new theatre improvements," said Stan Soroka, senior vice president of Oakbrook Hotels, Inc., the company for which Pheasant Run Resort & Spa is a flagship property. "These new additions will not only enhance the guest entertainment experience, they will also provide versatility for non-theatre uses."

The Pheasant Run Theatre is just one aspect of an overall resort renovation project totaling more than $16 million. Pheasant Run Resort & Spa has already completed Phase I of the renovation which featured a new main entrance to the resort, a redesigned 12,000-square-foot St. Charles Ballroom, complete remodeling of the guest rooms located in the resort's golf wing including the addition of new two-story luxury whirlpool guest suites, a new fitness center, a remodeled conference registration center, a new business center and a new Terrace Café overlooking the golf course and lake. Also included in the final phase of the renovation is the redesign of Bourbon Street, the remodeling of the Gem meeting rooms located in the resort's tower and the refurbishment of the Pheasant Run Resort & Spa lobby.
