2014 HSMAI'S MEET National Conference To Be Held In Washington, DC In September

The 25th annual HSMAI's MEET National event, presented by Questex Hospitality + Travel, will be held Sept. 3-4 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington and is expected to attract more than 1,250 attendees.

HSMAI's MEET (Meetings, Events, Education, & Technology) conferences are designed for hospitality sales and marketing professionals to present their properties, destinations and services to the industry's leading planners and decision-makers.

The event brings together meeting planners with suppliers representing hotels, resorts and meeting venues, convention and visitors bureaus and technology, event services and promotional and marketing products vendors.

Meeting professionals will include corporate, independent, government and association planners as well as those representing the nonprofit, education, medical, health-care, religious and military segments. Also attending will be travel advisors, trade show managers, event planners and wedding planners.

Marilyn McHugh, Questex Hospitality + Travel vice president, global events, said the highly anticipated HSMAI's MEET National event will offer "top-of-the-line training, educational and development opportunities for meeting and event-planning professionals.

"This year's enhanced, appointment-based program and dynamic educational programming including case-study workshops, peer-to-peer roundtables and executive panels are designed to make planning more affordable and more efficient. Attendees will have numerous opportunities to network and share best practices critical to both their personal and business development."

Questex Hospitality + Travel manages the MEET series of events under a strategic agreement with Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI).

"We are proud to mark the 25th anniversary of HSMAI's MEET conference, which connects planners with top meeting hotels, destinations and suppliers," said Fran Brassuex, HSMAI executive vice president. "The opportunity to meet face-to-face and do business is invaluable."

Trudy Singh, director of sales for NYC & Co, New York City's official tourism marketing organization, praised her experience at the 2013 HSMAI's MEET conference. "I love the number of planners I got to see and had some great interactions," she said. "We had some really quality conversations during the one-on-one appointments. The show definitely generated leads."

Advance registration is complimentary through Sept. 2 for qualified meeting planners and event professionals.
