"Branson To Branson" Media Event Successful
|The City of Branson and Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB were glad to be part of the #BransontoBranson media event with Richard Branson's team at Virgin Group. The frivolity culminated in a "press release" that went out at midnight on April 1, in the New Zealand time zone, stating his plans "to move the Virgin Group's US operations, and a section of our UK operations" to Branson, Missouri.|
"Our role in the social media event was to capitalize on this public relations opportunity that Richard Branson provided. We received national media attention from outlets such as CBS, ABC, CNN and HLN and fielded more than 100 media requests," said Jeff Seifried, President/CEO of the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce/CVB. "ExploreBranson.com had one of the best days ever; receiving almost 7,000 visitors. We continue to calculate the earned media dollar amount expecting it to exceed $1.5 million."
"I believe this was a good opportunity to showcase Branson. We are focused on economic development for the community and interested in talking to anyone who wants to bring jobs to our area," Seifried continued. "It's wonderful that entrepreneurs want to invest in Branson and we offer compelling reasons for companies that want to do business here."
"We're always looking at and evaluating new market opportunities and have had positive conversations with the Branson air service development team," stated Abby Lunardini, VP of Brand Marketing and Communications for Virgin America. "We know that Branson attracts millions of visitors each year and is a world-class destination."
"We look forward to having Richard Branson and his family visit us and enjoy the live shows, outdoor adventure and family fun found only in Branson," said Mayor Raeanne Presley.
