City of Bhangra Festival
May 28 to June 6

Celebrate the raucous energy and infectious rhythms of bhangra at the City of Bhangra Festival. Marking its 11th year, the festival features10 days of music and dance that showcase the Punjab regions of India and Pakistan with performances by hundreds of local and international artists. The cultural experience will once again take place in venues throughout downtown Vancouver and area with a number of free and ticketed events.

Vancouver Craft Beer Week
May 29 to June 7

It's been a banner couple of years for craft beer drinkers in Vancouver with a surge of new breweries and events popping up throughout the city. One of the champions of this movement is Vancouver Craft Beer Week -- now the largest craft beer festival in Canada -- which returns for its sixth year in 2015. During the week-long festival, attendees can choose from an array of 17 beer-themed events, including Cicerone vs. Sommelier (a cicerone and sommelier pair wine and beer tastings to a four-course menu, and attendees vote on the best pairing), and Rookies and Legends (attendees sample B.C. craft beer and meet the makers behind 12 rookie and 12 legendary breweries). The event culminates with a two-day festival at a new location -- the outdoor Fair Grounds at the PNE -- featuring more than 100 breweries and up to 400 beer tastings.

TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival
June 18 to July 1

Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2015, the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival brings some of music's most well-known edge-pushers, mainstayers and international ambassadors to Vancouver. For 13 days, more than 560,000 music lovers will enjoy performances by some 1,800 artists -- ranging from the globe's best jazz, funk and Latin to fusion and world music -- at 300-plus concert venues across the city. Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival
June 19 to 21

The Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival returns for its 27th year. This always-spirited annual event sees more than 180 teams from around the globe paddle the waters of downtown Vancouver's False Creek for dragon boat racing of the highest calibre. The festival begins on Friday night with the colourful Blessing Ceremony and opening concert, and continues throughout the weekend with non-stop entertainment, children's activities, plenty of eats and a beer garden. General admission is free to the public.

Honda Celebration of Light Fireworks Festival
July 25, 29 and August 1 (shows start at 10 pm)

The largest off-shore fireworks competition in the world, Vancouver's annual Honda Celebration of Light will once again light up the sky over English Bay and the city's downtown core. The amazing pyrotechnics show is choreographed to music and showcased free to the public, drawing crowds of more than 1.5 million to the city's beaches, waterfront parks and restaurants. This year's competing countries are China, Brazil and Canada.
