Greater Fort Lauderdale To Host Largest LGBT Business Development Event Attracting Top Corporate America Brands & International Business Leaders
|The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce's (NGLCC) International Business & Leadership Conference will take place August 11-14, 2015 in Greater Fort Lauderdale, the Gay Capital of Florida. This will be the first time the annual conference, sponsored by American Airlines, will take place in South Florida. Keynote speakers include personal finance guru Suze Orman, CNN anchor Richard Quest, Washington Post columnist and MSNBC contributor Jonathan Capehart and personal branding expert Sally Hogshead.|
Next month's annual conference, designed to expand economic opportunities and advancements for business owners, as well as build strong relationships with corporate America, proves to be the most successful NGLCC conference to date. This year's host hotel, the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa, is sold-out with the conference bringing in more than 2,500 room nights.
"We're honored to welcome attendees, keynote speakers and top Corporate America brands to our welcoming community and to host the largest LGBT business development event in the world," said Richard Gray, LGBTQ Managing Director for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.
More than 800 domestic and international LGBT and allied entrepreneurs, corporate representatives, business owners and chamber leaders will gather for three days of panel discussions, development seminars and special events designed to generate business opportunities and build corporate relationships.
"NGLCC is proud to be bringing our annual International Business & Leadership Conference to Fort Lauderdale in August 2015. Our local affiliate chamber, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (GFLGLCC), led by President and CEO Keith Blackburn, is doing wonderful things in the area and has worked hard to bring this opportunity to the local LGBT and allied business community," said Justin Nelson, NGLCC Co-Founder and President.
"Through our strong partnership with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau and our corporate partner Marriott International, the NGLCC recognizes that the Fort Lauderdale business community is an important force and is excited to welcome increased participation in the region," added Chance Mitchell, Co-founder & CEO, NGLCC.
Welcoming 1.5 million LGBTQ visitors spending $1.5 billion in 2014, Greater Fort Lauderdale is well-suited to host this prestigious conference. With hundreds of gay-owned and operated businesses, the most in the state, and the highest concentration of same-sex couple households in the country, the destination is one of the most diverse and welcoming. It's also home to one of the largest Pride Centers in the country, the world's first AIDS museum, the global headquarters of the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association, and the Stonewall Museum, one of the only permanent spaces in the U.S. devoted to exhibitions relating to LGBTQ history and culture.
