WorldTravel BTI Ranked As The Nation?s Third Largest Travel Agency
|WorldTravel BTI was named among the top three U.S.-based corporate travel agencies, according to the May 27 issue of Business Travel News? (BTN) annual business travel survey. The BTN survey was based on U.S. gross air sales for the year ending December 31, 2001, and ranked WorldTravel BTI as the third largest U.S.-based corporate travel agency for the second year in a row, with 2001 air sales at $3.3 billion. ?We are very pleased to retain our position on the BTN survey during one of the most trying years in the history of the travel industry,? said Danny Hood, WorldTravel BTI president. ?Our recent merger with McCord, continued growth of new business, excellent customer retention, and an energized and forward-thinking employee base, should place WorldTravel in a position to advance in the rankings in 2002.?|
In determining the top travel agencies, BTN focused on U.S.-based travel agencies with 2001 air sales of $20 million or more, derived primarily from business travel and exclusively from wholly owned locations.
