Signature Travel Network Expands Its 2015 Training Plan and Programs

 Signature Travel Network is expanding its 2015 training programs with a new emphasis on supporting member agencies in attracting and training new talent, as well as expanding the number of front-line consultants who master all aspects of the Signature preferred supplier, marketing, and technology platforms.

Gina Weyer, vice president of member services and training, explains, "Our annual survey of owners revealed that finding and developing new and younger travel consultants is a priority for the continued success of their businesses."

Signature recently published a 57-page resource guide, "Attracting and Training New Talent," covering best practices for recruiting, interviewing, mentoring, coaching, effectively managing younger staff, as well as internships to assist owners and managers with their staffing development goals.

Looking forward to 2015, Signature will launch a new "Signature Travel Expert" certification program providing a comprehensive training curriculum for new travel consultants affiliated with Signature member agencies. The curriculum will cover Signature's products, marketing, preferred suppliers, and technology tools, as well as essential business skills including leisure sales consulting, professional fees, and customer service.

Training will be offered via self-paced online courses in combination with webinars, regional seminars, and designated workshops during Signature's annual sales meeting. Travel Consultants will be required to complete and pass an online test in order to earn their certification.

Certification benefits will include a "Signature Travel Expert" logo and a video business card promoting the advantages of working with a travel expert that is affiliated with a Signature member agency. Certified travel consultants will also have priority confirmation status for Signature Educational Journeys. These exclusive educational trips include worldwide destinations. During 2014, Signature featured exclusive journeys to South Africa, India, Australia, Fiji, Thailand, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, and Costa Rica.
