Signature Travel Network Celebrates Record Participation At Its Annual Sales Meeting
|Signature Travel Network opened its annual three-day Sales Meeting & Trade Show today, which is free of charge for members, at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. This year, the Sales Meeting is hosting more than 2,200 attendees, including more than 1,350 Signature travel consultants representing 94 percent of Signature's member agencies. Preferred supplier partners, which include cruise lines, land and tour suppliers, destination specialists, tourism boards, hotels and resorts, airlines, and specialty suppliers, are also in attendance at record levels with more than 860 representatives participating.|
Alex Sharpe, Signature's president and CEO states, "This meeting is designed to maximize our members' valuable time, in addition to providing excellent training and networking opportunities. We look forward to celebrating our members' success with them. Collectively, Signature now generates more than $7 billion in annual travel sales. It is a staggering number, but what continues to make Signature strong is that we never lose sight of the value of every traveler and the unique talent of every single Signature member. This year's conference theme, Make YOUR Mark, underscores the power of Signature's programs and tools, and how everything is designed to let each member's brand shine while helping consultants build even stronger relationships with their clients."
The conference features two keynote speakers. On Thursday, Erik Wahl -- an internationally recognized graffiti artist, author and entrepreneur -- will inspire the audience as his on-stage painting becomes a visual metaphor that encourages people to channel the creative power of their talent and passion to achieve superior levels of performance and profitability. On Friday, Bruce Poon Tip, founder of G Adventures, will share his passion for sustainability and philanthropy and how it is possible to deliver authentic experiences to travelers while making a positive social and environmental impact around the world.
Throughout the conference, Signature members have a choice of more than 60 seminars, including sessions on destination training, social media, luxury and niche market sales, client database analysis and segmentation, and digital marketing strategies, as well as technology-focused workshops that spotlight Signature's state-of-the-art tools. In addition to training opportunities, Signature members will participate in networking sessions with preferred suppliers in attendance. Plus, new this year, consultants have the opportunity to schedule one-to-one appointments with preferred partner representatives at the annual trade show, which has been extended to Friday and Saturday, and features more than 500 booths and pavilions. In conjunction with the trade show Signature partners have committed more than $800,000 worth of educational trips to the travel consultant prize drawing.
Another highlight of the conference is the opportunity to celebrate more than 600 consultants who have completed the Signature Travel Expert program, which launched in June 2015. The members' desire to learn is also reflected in the attendance numbers at the new pre- and post-conference training events. Wednesday night, more than 600 consultants registered for in-depth training with destination partners New Zealand and Hawaii, and more than 900 consultants attended the Worldwide Destination Specialist and Specialty Supplier Showcase. On Saturday afternoon, more than 350 consultants will attend a Best Practices workshop hosted by CLIA. Alex Sharpe comments, "Numbers like this prove that Signature's commitment to training and member engagement is what the members want, and we look forward to expanding our reach in 2016 with more regional training opportunities."
